I am a board-certified therapist and licensed clinical social worker. I earned my undergraduate degree in Psychology from Boston University and my Master of Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania, where I developed a strong interest in understanding how relationships, emotional experiences, and life circumstances shape the ways we think, feel, and relate to others. My clinical training has also included study through the Institute for Relational Psychoanalysis of Philadelphia, where I further developed an appreciation for how our past experiences and relationships continue to influence the patterns we carry into the present.
My work is informed by experience across community-based, residential, partial hospitalization, intensive treatment, college counseling, and private practice settings. Across these settings, I have worked with individuals and families facing a wide range of emotional and psychological challenges. These experiences taught me the importance of looking beyond symptoms alone and understanding the larger context in which emotional struggles develop. Over time, I have worked with adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, OCD, relationship difficulties, family conflict, life transitions, and questions related to identity and meaning.
One of the ideas that has most shaped my work is the belief that emotional struggles often develop for understandable reasons. Symptoms are rarely random. They are often attempts to cope, adapt, protect ourselves, or navigate important relationships and life experiences. While these patterns may no longer be serving us in the present, they frequently contain valuable information about where we have been and what we may still need.
My approach to therapy is thoughtful, collaborative, and individualized. I strive to create a space where curiosity, emotional honesty, reflection, and even humor can coexist. Whether someone is seeking relief from specific symptoms, navigating a difficult life transition, or pursuing a deeper understanding of themselves and their relationships, I view therapy as an opportunity to develop greater flexibility, self-understanding, and connection.
